My Support Services

For me the essence of midwifery does not sums up only in the actual final act of delivery, rather guide and support the women through the entire journey from pregnancy, through birth, breastfeeding, and home nursing. To do so, I  am offering a range of services  which are tailored to your needs.

Birth Doula

As a birth Doula I support women during birth wherever they chose to have their baby, be that at the hospital or at home.

I don’t believe there is one specific way to give birth, as some hospitals will have you believe. Each woman is different and should give birth where and however is right for her and her baby. I want to help empower women through this process and assist them in having a positive birth experience.

As your birth Doula, we will meet before the third trimester, where we will get to know one another in advance, and I will support you in the way that is right for your needs. Our goal will be to develop your own birth plan and ensure your chosen birth place can support your wishes.

Following an introductory phone conversation, I would love to meet you for an initial meeting (no charge) to get to know each other. I feel it is very important for you to choose a doula you feel most comfortable with.

If you decide to choose me as your doula we would meet at least twice before the birth to talk about your wishes and provide you with information so that you can make informed decisions.

I will be available by phone or email throughout and I would be on call for you from 38 weeks 24/7. I will accompany you throughout your labour and stay with you until after you have given birth your baby has fed and you are settled. I will visit you at least once after the birth.

Post Natal Support - Day Service

The time after having a bay is such a raw and delicate time. Most women do a lot of preparation for the birth, but not for the period thereafter. You suddenly have this wonderful tiny person in your arms, you might be tired, anxious, aching etc.

Through my Post Natal support, I can be there for you, hold you, look after you and the people you love. Making sure your baby receives the maximum attention for his needs.

Apart from this “standard” Post Natal support, I also provide Night Support and Breastfeeding Consultancy support.

Post Natal Support - Night Support

It is completely natural for you to feel you need to recharge at night and have a much needed sleep.

Through my Night Support, I will be there to temporarily provide for all your baby’s needs. Both physical and emotional.

If you are breastfeeding, I will bring your baby to you for feeds, and do the settling and nappies changing, so you get a longer, better sleep.

Breastfeeding Consultancy

Breastfeeding is one of the most natural behaviours in the world. However, it is also a skill that both us and our babies need to learn. Especially as most women have not had previous exposure to it.

When I worked as a Midwife, I supported women in the early days after delivery including help with breastfeeding. I myself breastfed all my children over the age of two. I believe that breastfeeding is a relationship between the mother and the baby and should  feel right for both  you and your baby. I am there to support you if things are more challenging.  As a mother I can relate and understand what you are going through (most of the time!).

Hypnobirthing Course

Hypnobirthing is a method of pain management that can be used during labour and birth. It involves using a mixture of visualisation, relaxation, and deep breathing techniques.

I am a certified Hypnobirthing teacher and can offer their preparation course prior to birth.

It is a comprehensive course span over 4 sessions. This course will help you prepare for birth and will also provide you essential tools and relaxation techniques which are key in Labour and birth.
