ABOUT ME
Efrat Eytan, M.A, B.A (Nursing)
Birth Support Doula
My name is Efrat. I am a mother of 3 born 2008, 2010 and 2019. I am passionate about supporting women during pregnancy, birth, and the motherhood journey.

Ever since I was a child, I knew it is my destiny, and as such I paved my career path to do just that. I completed my four year B.A studies in Nursing at the University of Tel Aviv, Israel (Summa Cum Laude) followed by a year of practice in High-Risk Pregnancy ward at Wolfson Hospital. In 2006 I completed an additional one-year course to become a Midwife, followed by two year work in Rambam Hospital where I delivered more than 100 lovely babies. Consequently in 2008 I completed my M.A degree in Nursing (with emphasis on woman’s health) from Tel Aviv University.

After moving to the UK, I was devastated to learn that due to unfortunate academic bureaucratic barriers I would not be able to practice as a midwife in this country. I decided to become a doula so I can continue fulfilling my calling to supporting women in childbirth.

As a midwife I considered the support the labouring woman receives as being the most important part of the labour, and this is exactly what I do now as a doula . I provide much needed support, both physical and emotional, to the birthing women and their partner; before, during and after the birth in the postnatal period.

Ever since I became a Doula I continued my professional development with different courses and workshops as I detailed below. I supported women in different hospitals as well as at home, and in many situations such as induction, older mums, VBAC, GD and more.

I believe that each woman, baby, and birth is unique. Each woman wishes for herself a birth that is right for her, her partner, and their baby. I would like to help you to achieve this! I believe that women have great strength in them. Your body knows how to give birth and your baby knows how to be born. It is your birth, and my aim is to provide you with a warm , protective, and safe environment where you can be yourself and empower you to give birth according to your wishes and desires.

For me the essence of midwifery does not sums up only in the actual final act of delivery, rather guide and support the women through the entire journey from pregnancy, through birth, breastfeeding, and home nursing. To do so, I also completed my breastfeeding consultancy training in 2013 and gained my Hypnobirthing certificate in 2017 and am offering a range of services such as post natal care (both day and night time) which is tailored to your needs.
